In order to ensure the stable development of Sino-foreign cooperatively-run institutes and obtain the excellent experience from fellow institutes, Shao Guang, secretary of CPC committee, also deputy dean of College of International Collaboration, went to Chengdu to carry out the research over Sino-foreign cooperatively-run institutes.
Shao Guang visited SWJTU-LEEDS JOINT SCHOOL, WUFE-UD Institute of Data Science at SWUFE and other famous Sino-foreign cooperatively-run institutes respectively. Secretary of CPC committee of SWJTU-Leeds Joint School, Jiuwen Jiang and the vice president of International Office, Weiping Xu, dean of SWUFE-UD Institution of Data Science at SWUFE, Shilei Yang gave him a warm welcome. The two sides had extensive exchanges on the Party building, management structure, decision-making mechanism, quality control, faculty construction, curriculum system, students’ management, degree awarding and other issues of Sino-foreign cooperatively-run institutes, and deeply discussed difficult problems encountered in the process of running the institute. Shao Guang also communicated with Qiao Sun, member of the organisational committee of the CPC branch directly under the Sichuan University - Pittsburgh Institute, on Party construction during the interval of business training in Sichuan University.
Through the on-site visit to the distinctive Sino-foreign cooperatively-run institutes above, we have gained successful institute running experience, understood difficulties and key points in the course of building-up, and obtained first-hand know-how for DMU to promote Sino-foreign cooperatively-run institute and further implement the internationalisation strategy in the future.
